Parenthesis are used for grouping separate expressions to force precedence or just for readability.
int number = (2 + 3) * (4 + 5);
// number = 45
2 + (3 * (4 + 5));
// number = 29
2 + (3 * 4) + 5
// number = 19
// number = 45
2 + (3 * (4 + 5));
// number = 29
2 + (3 * 4) + 5
// number = 19
